A few years ago, I had Norton Antivirus installed on my computer. Everything was OK. I thought I was completely safe. I mean, it’s Norton after all. Why shouldn’t I feel protected by a leading brand?

…that was until I got hit with a virus.

At first, I was confused. How could I get hit when I was Norton protected?

But then I just had to deal with it.

Long story short, I got rid of the virus eventually. Took days of researching and reading up. I ended up solving it with the help of FREE anti-virus/spyware/malware software (can you see the irony in that?)

Another virus I got rid of…was Norton. I’ll never use it again. Ever.

Norton is crap. I had it on my home computer and my computer crashed. It never detected any issues with it. Wiped out the whole computer whatever it was that got on it. I would never go with Norton. I bought a new computer and the first thing I did was uninstall Norton. Never again will I use this and I do not recommend anyone else doing it either.

Norton 360 is a complete antivirus protection for your PC, laptop. This is with live update, 2 GB backup space, theft protection and with safe web search.

I am using it since a year and its a good antivirus but not the best.

Norton Internet Security is one of the best products released by the company and from time to time they come out with updated version providing security with the latest threats as well along with Identify Theft Protection.

I complete love Norton and its the best in the business.

Norton seems to be the antivirus program that everyone trusts. I’ve used them for nearly 10 years as a complimentary, free part of my Comcast Internet service, and never got a virus.

Also, because they have a pretty big team of employees, they manage to keep their virus definitions updated for true “up to the minute” protection.

Norton is terrible and ridiculously overpriced. Go Kaspersky!

3 years ago: Spybot Search And Destroy DOES find instances of viruses and spyware that other anti-virus programs miss. That's one of the main reasons that computer professionals recommend this program to chat members so frequently. It's constantly updated to include new definitions to stay right in-tune with the latest online spyware/malware threats. Most times I scan, it finds some "bad stuff" to remove. Thumbs up!

3 years ago: AVG is totally free, and because of this I don't COMPLETELY trust it's effectiveness. However, there needs to be a nice selection of free antivirus programs sticking around to help the fight, so I applaud AVG for their constant good service. I've heard that many people use AVG and enjoy nearly the same protection as paid antivirus programs like Norton. Sure, it doesn't come with tons of extras, but at least it's barebones protection. Thumbs up!

3 years ago: Love McAfee! They've been one of the very best anti-virus software programs since the very beginning! I remember back about 8 years ago they were just becoming popular, and I loved how light and fast having it installed was. Never a single problem with viruses, and it seemed to always be on the cutting edge! Thumbs up!
