This is a free program that you have to install on your PC and then run it frequently to find spyware that has deposited itself on your PC. Spyware can slow down your PC. The company that developed the little program constantly updates it. You wouldn’t believe the stuff it catches! I use Ad Aware too in conjunction with Spybot to help keep Spyware and Malware off of my computer.

Spybot Search And Destroy DOES find instances of viruses and spyware that other anti-virus programs miss. That’s one of the main reasons that computer professionals recommend this program to chat members so frequently. It’s constantly updated to include new definitions to stay right in-tune with the latest online spyware/malware threats. Most times I scan, it finds some “bad stuff” to remove. Thumbs up!

2 years ago: AVG is totally free, and because of this I don't COMPLETELY trust it's effectiveness. However, there needs to be a nice selection of free antivirus programs sticking around to help the fight, so I applaud AVG for their constant good service. I've heard that many people use AVG and enjoy nearly the same protection as paid antivirus programs like Norton. Sure, it doesn't come with tons of extras, but at least it's barebones protection. Thumbs up!

2 years ago: Love McAfee! They've been one of the very best anti-virus software programs since the very beginning! I remember back about 8 years ago they were just becoming popular, and I loved how light and fast having it installed was. Never a single problem with viruses, and it seemed to always be on the cutting edge! Thumbs up!

8 months ago: Installed Avast and hadn't realised it'd copied down its own secure browser as well... would the uninstall work.. like heck did it Spent a good hour or two manually removing the various files and registry entries from win 10. Might be a reasonable product in certain circumstances but for me total pants... should have kept to the one I had used before.
